Apple has recently announced a major update to its tablet lineup, marking the most comprehensive refresh since 2018. The company surprised many by introducing its new M4 processor in the latest iPad Pro model, a processor that has not yet been integrated into any of its computers. Along with the revamped high-end iPads, Apple also introduced an updated version of its Air model, featuring a 13-inch option.
Apple’s CEO Tim Cook showcased the new iPad Pro during the company’s event called Let Loose. The device is described as the thinnest product Apple has ever created with the most advanced screen ever produced. The pre-recorded online presentation highlighted the professional video and sound editing capabilities of the new iPad Pro, positioning it as a powerful alternative to laptops. The device offers versatility with its touch screen and haptic pen capabilities.
One of the key features of the new iPad Pro is its OLED screen, a technology not yet available in any of Apple’s laptops or monitors. The Ultra Retina XDR OLED Display offers improved brightness, realistic black colors and enhances overall viewing experience for users. The M4 chip powering the iPad Pro is touted to be up to 1.5 times faster than its predecessor, with dedicated processing engines for OLED screen and artificial intelligence tasks.
Apple also introduced updated versions of iPad Air, now equipped with M2 processor and available in 11 and 13-inch options. Both models offer variations in storage capacity and connectivity options to cater to different user preferences. To complement these new tablets, Apple unveiled new accessories such as pro version of apple pencil with enhanced features and updated Magic Keyboard with keyboard and trackpad .
