Larian Studio confirms two new projects in the works, but Baldur’s Gate 4 is off the table

Baldur’s Gate 3, which was released last summer, has been praised for its innovative gameplay and storytelling. The developers at Larian Studio have decided to focus on two new projects that are independent of the Baldur’s Gate saga, rather than pursuing a sequel. They are currently working on Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3, which will address bugs and introduce new modification tools to enhance the game’s customization options.

While they plan to add features like crossplay and a photo mode in the future, the developers have ruled out continuing the Baldur’s Gate story through a new narrative, expansion, or sequel. This means there will not be a Baldur’s Gate 4. Instead, Larian Studio is shifting its focus to new titles and expresses excitement about the future projects it is working on. The team looks forward to bringing something unique and exciting to players in the future.
