Amazon’s Prime Video is set to launch the sequel series of the beloved Colombian telenovela, Yo soy Betty, la Fea. The series, titled Betty la Fea, the Story Continues, will follow Beatriz Pinzón Solano 20 years after the original show. The cast includes Rodrigo Candamil, Juanita Molin, Zharick León and Sebastián Osorio.

The new series will see Ana María Orozco reprising her role as Betty alongside Jorge Enrique Abello and other returning cast members such as Julián Arango and Natalia Ramírez. The story picks up where the original left off with Beatriz navigating her relationship with her daughter Mila and facing challenges in her relationship with Armando.

Betty la Fea, the Story Continues has already been a global success and has been dubbed into 15 languages and aired in 180 countries. It has also been adapted in 28 territories including India, South Africa, and the U.S. After the original telenovela run RCN produced a sequel series in 2001 while Ugly Betty starring America Ferrera ran for four seasons on ABC. Telemundo also produced their own version in 2019 titled Betty in NY.
