Biden imposes sanctions on Ukraine and Israel and considers banning TikTok

On Wednesday, President Joe Biden signed a law that was approved by the Senate the previous day. This law provides military aid to Ukraine, Israel, and the Indo-Pacific region, including Taiwan. Additionally, it requires Chinese company ByteDance to sell social network TikTok within a year to prevent its banning in the country. The aid package includes $60 billion for Ukraine and $26.4 billion for Israel.

Following the signing of the law, Biden announced that the US would begin sending air defense ammunition, artillery for rocket systems, and armored vehicles to Ukraine. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed that the first weapons package worth $1 billion had been shipped, including air defense missiles, armored vehicles, and anti-tank weapons. In response to the ultimatum to sell TikTok, China reiterated its previous stance and accused the US of using intimidation tactics.

TikTok’s CEO Shou Zi Chew stated in a video that he would appeal the US government’s measure and was optimistic about a favorable outcome. The forum content covers various topics such as increasing social media presence, buying Instagram and TikTok likes, and maximizing online visibility through different platforms.
