Family’s Hopes for ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope’ Documentary to Shine Light on Mental Health – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

As the Executive Producer of the documentary ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope,’ Sue Loncar is bravely sharing her story of losing her daughter, Grace, to suicide in 2016. She fondly looks through a photo album dedicated to her daughter, describing her as beautiful, precious, and greatly desired. Despite the pain of losing her daughter, Loncar envisions Grace as a vibrant 16-year-old who would be 23 now.

The film’s Writer/Producer/Director, Marica Carroll, stresses the importance of addressing the epidemic of suicide and breaking the stigma around discussing mental health. Through ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope,’ Loncar and Carroll hope to provide solace and guidance to those struggling with the loss of a loved one to suicide.

The documentary is a project of the Grace Loncar Foundation and premiered at the Greenwich International Film Festival. It is in contention for a $10,000 Social Impact Grant. The film will also be shown at the Dallas International Film Festival at various times.

Loncar and Carroll encourage those facing mental health challenges to seek help and remind them that they are not alone. The ultimate message of ‘Losing Grace Finding Hope’ is one of resilience and unity in confronting the darkness of suicide. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
