Children’s Health in Dallas celebrated its annual “Cape Day” as part of National Superhero Day. The event aimed to recognize the strength and bravery of each child and family treated at the hospital. During the day, patients were encouraged to celebrate their own superpowers.
Each patient received a cape to wear for the day. Miguel Solis’s 5-year-old daughter Olivia, who received a heart transplant at just three months old, used her superpower of courage every day. Her story was laced with courage, and she spent the day with superheroes like Batman and Ironman, participating in activities such as cookie decorating and painting.
Olivia enjoyed spending time with her friend Amelia, who also received treatment at Children’s Health. Olivia said, “Amelia and I are Superheroes because of our powers!”
