Outgoing OCDPH Deputy Health Officer Marcia Mansaray Announces Retirement and New Deputy Appointed

In May 2024, the Ottawa County Department of Public Health (OCDPH) in Michigan will undergo a staffing change as Deputy Health Officer Marcia Mansaray announces her retirement, effective May 31.

Mansaray has been with OCDPH for nearly 20 years, starting in 2006 as a health promotion specialist. Throughout her tenure, she has held several positions within the department and has played a key role in leading the department and community through the COVID-19 pandemic. Her leadership, wisdom, empathy, and grace have been recognized by Health Officer Adeline Hambley who expressed sadness at her retirement but is looking forward to Lisa Uganski stepping into the role of deputy health officer.

Uganski has been with OCDPH since 2000 when she started as a registered dietitian and health educator. She has expressed excitement about her new opportunity and is dedicated to continuing the department’s efforts to improve the quality of life for Ottawa County residents. As the new deputy health officer, Uganski’s knowledge, expertise, and passion for serving the community will be valuable assets for OCDPH moving forward.
