Parker given new role overseeing economy and government coverage at Bloomberg

Washington bureau chief Margaret Collins has announced the appointment of Chris Roush as the managing editor of economy/government at Bloomberg News. In his new role, Roush will oversee coverage of the 2024 election, White House, Congress, and international economics and security.

Prior to this promotion, Roush served as a business journalist for Bloomberg News and was previously the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University and the Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He has a wealth of experience in business journalism, having worked for various publications including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune, and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune.

Roush is also a published author, with works including “Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication” and “Thinking Things Over,” a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College and a master’s degree from the University of Illinois.
