NBC Chicago is seeking a suspect in child sex abuse case at the Museum of Science and Industry

On Saturday, the Chicago Police Department issued a community alert about a man who had sexually assaulted a young girl at the Museum of Science and Industry. The incident took place on Thursday at the museum located on 5700 S. DuSable Lake Shore Drive.

The 10-year-old girl had become separated from her group when she was approached by the suspect, who offered to help her find her way back to her group. The child was taken to the museum’s second floor and asked to use the restroom, where the assault took place.

While in the restroom, the suspect entered the room, crawled under the stall door, and inappropriately touched the child. The girl reacted by kicking towards the suspect, who then fled from the restroom.

The suspect is described as a man between 30 to 40 years old, weighing between 160 to 180 pounds, with a height between 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches. He has curly, light brown hair, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to contact the Bureau of Detectives Special Investigations Unit at (312) 492-3810.
