UK News: Crew member goes missing at sea during round-the-world cruise

A crew member from Ambassador Cruise Line’s flagship ship, the Ambience, has gone missing at sea during a 120-day voyage around the world. The crew member, who was from India, disappeared off Cape Finisterre, Spain shortly after breakfast while on the final journey from Lisbon, Portugal back to the UK.

The ship, which can carry 1,400 guests and had departed from Tilbury, Essex on January 6th, initially turned back to search for the crew member but has since been released by coastguard authorities from the search and is continuing on its original course back to the UK.

Ambassador Cruise Line is headquartered in Purfleet, Essex and operates the Ambience ship as its flagship boat. The ship has 789 cabins and stops at various countries on its Grand Round The World Cruise voyage, including New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and Brazil. The ship was due to return to the UK on Sunday morning but the arrival time has been delayed until the evening due to the incident.
