Sol 1134: Small Beginning at “Pilgrim”

Yesterday, the Curiosity rover team focused on a “mini-start hole” in a fracture to ensure safety before drilling into the target named “Pilgrim.” The Mastcam image revealed that Pilgrim was located in the center of the fracture. The plan for today included capturing images of Pilgrim using MAHLI and placing APXS over the target for overnight analysis. Additionally, measurements from DAN, RAD, and REMS were taken to gather more data.

Despite facing challenges with data volume and power constraints, the team managed to put together a comprehensive plan for the day. Tomorrow, I will be serving as the GSTL, and it is anticipated that there will be a science block allowing for further characterization of the target using Mastcam and ChemCam.
