The Dallas Cowboys have signed linebacker Damien Wilson back to their roster, ESPN’s Todd Archer reports. Wilson had not been in the league for most of the previous season but he served a four-game suspension for violating the Personal Conduct Policy and joined the Cowboys’ practice squad on January 3rd.
Originally drafted by the Cowboys in the fourth round in 2015, Wilson played his first four seasons with them before moving to Kansas City, Jacksonville and Carolina. After this offseason’s draft of Marist Liufau in the third round, who needed depth at the linebacker position, they decided to sign him back.
Wilson is now the fourth outside free agent that has been added to the Cowboys roster this offseason, joining Ezekiel Elliott, Eric Kendricks and Royce Freeman.
