Penn State Class of 2024 Welcomes World Series Champion Dexter Fowler as Graduate

Dexter Fowler, a former Chicago Cubs centerfielder and World Series champion, recently graduated from Penn State with a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational and Professional Communication. Fowler, who was a student marshal at his graduation ceremony, played in the majors from 2008-2021, with stints on various teams including the Rockies, Astros, Cubs, Cardinals, and Angels. He was an All-Star in 2016 and won the World Series with Chicago that same year.

When Fowler was drafted by the Rockies in 2004, his parents insisted that he finish his education and go to college. Despite his successful baseball career, Fowler kept his promise to his parents by returning to school and earning his degree. He studied with Penn State’s World Campus and graduated from the College of Liberal Arts in a ceremony on Saturday, May 4th.

Fowler is not only known for his baseball career but also for his entrepreneurial spirit. He owns two companies and provides on-air baseball analysis for ESPN, NBC Sports, and FOX Sports. His commitment to education and dedication to his promise show his strong work ethic and integrity. Congratulations to Dexter Fowler on this well-deserved achievement!
