On Tuesday, May 14 from 5:30-7 p.m., the Lake Tahoe Community College, Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD), and Tahoe STEM Academy are coming together to host Discovery Night, a community event focused on STEM exploration.
Discovery Night will offer an evening of excitement, learning, and fun for K-12 students and their families. The event will be held at South Tahoe Middle School, where attendees can expect interactive activities, tinkering exhibits, and robotics displays.
Adam Eynon, the Director of Dual Enrollment at Lake Tahoe Community College, emphasized the importance of nurturing an early interest in STEM subjects. By providing a space for families to come together and explore, Discovery Night aims to ignite a passion for science and discovery.
LTCC’s TRiO, HSI, and Dual Enrollment departments are all proud to support this initiative. With a focus on expanding STEM offerings in dual enrollment, LTCC is dedicated to offering students access to high-quality STEM education. Collaborating with LTUSD and Tahoe STEM Academy has allowed them to bring this vision to life.
The event aligns perfectly with their mission to enhance STEM education opportunities in the community. Families with students from kindergarten to 12th grade are encouraged to attend and take part in this immersive learning experience that will feature food, games, raffle prizes, and a rich exploration of STEM concepts.
