Women in Bakersfield unite for empowerment at yearly business conference

The 34th annual Bakersfield Women’s Business Conference recently took place at the Mechanic’s Bank Convention Center in downtown Bakersfield. The theme of this year’s event was “Making the Impossible Possible,” which emphasized resilience, innovation, and determination. Thousands of women attended to be inspired by empowering and enriching speeches and workshops.

The keynote speaker was Marlee Matlin, an Academy-Award-Winning actress, author, and activist. She shared her insights on achieving success and overcoming challenges. Mari Perez-Dowling, CEO of United Way of Central Eastern California, delivered a powerful closing message, inspiring attendees with her dedication to serving others.

The conference began with doors opening at 7:30 a.m., and attendees had the opportunity to explore various vendors and workshops throughout the day until 4:30 p.m. Eyewitness News Mornings reporter Tony Salazar provided a preview of the event, highlighting the exciting lineup of speakers and activities.
