Can Humans Be Tracked with GPS Technology?

Last night, I encountered a setback when I got a flat tire on my bike, causing me to be late for a dinner out with my wife. Frustrated by the situation, I began to contemplate the idea of having some sort of tracking device that could be placed on myself or my bicycle. This way, my wife could monitor my whereabouts and speed of travel in real-time. For instance, she would have been able to see that I was traveling at a walking pace far from home today.

After discussing this with a hair stylist, I learned that she keeps track of her kids’ locations using their cellphones. This made me wonder if there was a similar tracking method that did not involve a cellphone. I recalled that certain convicted criminals are required to wear GPS tracking devices, which sparked my curiosity about obtaining a similar device.

Although tracking devices are commonly used in cars, I wondered if it would be feasible to have one that I could carry with me without relying on a cellphone. A suggestion was made for me to simply carry a cellphone, but I pondered the idea of having an alternative method of tracking my movements.
