Technology Center Celebrates Signing Day with Student Achievements – The Troy Messenger

Recently, the Troy Pike Center for Technology hosted a Careers Are Fun Day for high school students from Charles Henderson High School, Goshen High School, and Pike County High School. The event was designed to introduce students to various career options and provide them with an opportunity to connect with peers from other schools.

Jamie Rich, assistant principal at the technology center, explained that the goal of Careers Are Fun Day was to provide students with a chance to explore different career paths and gain insights into the skills and qualifications required for each one. The first session focused on STEM-related careers such as robotics, engineering, and computer science. Students were given hands-on activities and presentations to help them better understand these fields.

The second session focused on non-STEM careers such as healthcare, hospitality, and creative industries. Students had the chance to interact with professionals in these fields and learn about the opportunities available in each one. The sessions were engaging and informative, giving students a better understanding of their future career prospects.

In addition to Careers Are Fun Day, the TPCT also held a Senior Career Signing Day for students who will be entering the military or starting employment or an apprenticeship at local businesses and industries. This event allowed students to celebrate their future endeavors and mark the next step in their career journeys. It was a day of excitement, pride, and camaraderie as students from different schools came together to support their peers in their chosen paths.

Overall, Careers Are Fun Day was a valuable experience for all participants. It provided students with valuable information about different career paths and helped them make informed decisions about their future education and career goals.

In conclusion, the Troy Pike Center for Technology recently hosted two events aimed at helping high school students explore their future careers: Careers Are Fun Day and Senior Career Signing Day. Both events were engaging, informative
