In recent times, fencing has emerged as a prevalent issue in certain locations. To tackle this problem, one viable solution is to implement a one-time entrance fee that can be paid at a debit/credit kiosk. This fee, ranging from $3-$5 per entrance, would be refundable after a day or two and would serve as a deterrent for individuals without credit cards or those who do not wish to have their presence recorded.
Another proposed solution is to install small cameras at each entrance or transaction point to capture images of individuals entering the location. This additional measure would enhance security and identification by keeping records of names associated with each entrance, proof of presence, and pictures of each individual.
This system can also help in cases of credit card theft by making it easier to identify and apprehend potential scammers through image recognition. While unfortunate, these restrictions may be necessary until the situation in our country improves. As Shane LaCrosse Yakima puts it, “This is simply one person’s perspective on the matter.”
