Jim Jacobs, a partner in the firm, took over ownership of Jacobs Financial in 1992 after the company moved to St. Cloud in 1979. The business has since grown to include seven advisors and seven support staff, with plans for expansion into the Brainerd and Maple Grove areas in the future.

Other award recipients include H&S Heating, A/C, Electrical and Plumbing for Small Business Owners of the Year and Jill Magelssen of Express Employment Professionals as Women in Business Champion.
