Her primary objective as an advocate is to destigmatize conversations about mental health by sharing her personal experience with mental illness and offering mental health education to various audiences. She has always had a strong desire to help people, especially those facing mental health challenges, which is why she chose to pursue a degree in psychology.
Throughout her journey with Kids Minds Matter, she has volunteered and helped organize events aimed at raising awareness about mental health. Her involvement with the organization began while completing her associate’s degree at Florida SouthWestern College, where she completed her studies in 2020. She later continued her involvement as a behavioral health intern at FGCU.
Having graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2022, she sees her degree as a stepping stone to further her advocacy work. Prior to college, she was unaware that being a mental health advocate was a viable option, but now she hopes to utilize her degree to provide mental health education. Through both the knowledge gained from her coursework and her personal mental health journey, she aims to make a positive impact in spreading awareness and understanding about mental health challenges.
