Lubbock Business News: Hairbreak Hotel, Dawna Gillespie, and more featured

Lubbock residents were in for a treat this week with two exciting pieces of business news. On Monday, a vehicle crashed through the wall of Golden Corral, but the restaurant’s officials reassured patrons that they would be reopening by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, a new men’s hair salon with a rock ‘n’ roll vibe is set to open soon in Lubbock. Hairbreak Hotel, located at 2614 130th St., Unit 3, takes inspiration from Elvis Presley and will offer an exclusive line of beard oil for customers.

The salon’s owner, Tristan Chancey, shared that his grandmother’s love for Elvis was the motivation behind naming the salon after the iconic song “Heartbreak Hotel.” He also revealed that he plans to keep up with Elvis’ legacy by providing quality service and creating an inviting atmosphere for his customers.

On Monday, we will be featuring Ransom Canyon metalsmith Dawna Gillespie in an article about her journey as an artist. Gillespie specializes in creating jewelry and ornamental art using brass and copper and shared insights on the science behind her craft, her choice of medium, and how a Texas Tech course changed her path.

Don’t miss this enlightening article next week! We will also be bringing you our monthly business roundup on Wednesday to update readers on new openings, closures, and announcements in the area. Thank you for your continued support of A-J!
