After rounds of contacts for a possible ceasefire in Gaza, Hamas delegation returns to Doha from Egypt

Despite Hamas accepting the ceasefire proposal presented by Egypt and Qatar, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to continue the offensive. Israel launched a ground incursion in Rafah, taking control of the Palestinian side of the pass on the border with Egypt. The delegation sent by Hamas to Egypt for ceasefire negotiations has left Cairo and is now headed to Qatar.

The progress of the talks is not yet known. A senior official of Hamas reiterated that the group is sticking to its position in the negotiations, while condemning Israel’s actions. Meanwhile, Israel believes that Hamas is not serious about reaching an agreement and is using negotiations as a cover for military actions.

In the midst of the conflict, Hamas remains committed to the negotiations while condemning Israel’s actions. The situation remains tense as both sides continue to engage in military operations. The delegation’s move to Qatar indicates a shift in the negotiation process, but the outcome remains uncertain. The conflict between Israel and Hamas continues to unfold with no clear resolution in sight.
