Harvey Weinstein is currently in the hospital due to various health issues. According to his lawyer, Arthur Aidala, he is being examined at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan. Despite the circumstances surrounding his release from prison and subsequent 16-year prison sentence, Aidala stated that Weinstein is in good spirits and satisfied with the medical attention he is receiving. The specific health problems he is facing have not been disclosed, but it’s known that he has heart ailments, diabetes, sleep apnea, and eye problems among other issues.
In response to Weinstein’s conviction, his representative Juda Engelmayer argued that it was cruel given his age and health condition. However, this conviction was later overturned by an appeals court in New York leading to another trial for Weinstein in the city. Despite these developments, a spokesperson for the New York Department of Corrections confirmed that Weinstein is still in custody at Bellevue.
