Hyundai Motor Group has once again demonstrated its excellence in the automotive industry, with the Kia EV9 being awarded the 2024 World Car of the Year at the New York International Auto Show. In addition to this prestigious title, the EV9 also received the 2024 World Electric Vehicle award. The Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was named the 2024 World Performance Car, highlighting the Group’s leadership in electric vehicles and advanced technology.
These victories in 2024 showcase Hyundai Motor Group’s continued success at the World Car Awards over the years. The IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 previously claimed triple titles in 2022 and 2023, respectively, in the categories of World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle, and World Car Design of the Year. In 2023, the Kia EV6 GT was also recognized as a World Performance Car, while in 2020, the Kia Telluride won overall World Car of the Year and Kia Soul EV won in World Urban Car category.
The Kia EV9 stood out at this year’s awards for its innovative design and spacious seven-seat interior. Built on Hyundai’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture, it is also equipped with fourth-generation battery technology that enhances its performance capabilities.
