India’s men’s and women’s 4x400m relay teams qualify for Paris 2024 Olympics

In the men’s 4x400m relay race, India made a stunning comeback and set a season’s best time of 3:03.23 to secure a spot in the event. The Indian team consisted of Amoj Jacob, Arokia Rajiv, Muhammad Anas Yahiya, and Muhammad Ajmal. Unfortunately, Rajesh Ramesh had to withdraw from the team on Saturday after sustaining an injury during practice, which resulted in a did not finish (DNF) for India.

On the other hand, in the women’s 4x400m relay race, India finished behind Jamaica with a time of 3:29.35. Rupal replaced Vithya Ramraj in this race. Despite their disappointing performance in the first heat, India still has hope for qualification at the Paris 2024 Olympics as two quotas will be distributed based on the top list during the qualification period between December 31, 2022 and June 30, 2024.
