Speeding Up Ahead

Noah Lyles is determined to make history in Paris during the 2024 Olympics by winning quadruple gold. After narrowly missing out on gold in the 4x400m at the Indoor World Championships, Lyles is returning to his roots in the Bahamas and focusing on his 100m expertise.

Achieving this ambitious goal has never been done before, not even by Usain Bolt, the legendary track star. To earn four gold medals in Paris, Lyles will need to excel in a variety of challenging events, including both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays as well as the 100m and 200m sprints.

While there are many great athletes who have achieved four gold medals at a single Olympics, their tallies often included long jump titles. However, Lyles is aiming for four sprint events, which adds an extra layer of difficulty to his quest for Olympic greatness.

In an interview with a sports journalist in March 2024, Lyles explained that he was not pursuing multiple events for attention but rather as a serious pursuit of excellence. Despite facing tough competition in Glasgow, Lyles set himself up for success by running as the fastest third leg of all six teams.
