During his visit to Anbar governorate, Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani inspected the progress of the ongoing Anbar combined power station project in the Euphrates district. He held a meeting with the executing company at the project headquarters to discuss the work and ensure speedy completion according to required specifications. Al-Sudani emphasized the importance of not delaying the project, especially since the government has provided all the necessary requirements for its completion.
The Anbar power station project is a strategic initiative that began in 2013 but was halted for approximately 8 years due to the occupation of the governorate by ISIS terrorist groups. Work on the project resumed as part of the government’s efforts to remove obstacles to lagging projects. The station is expected to have a capacity of 1640 megawatts, utilizing local natural gas from the Okaz gas field as fuel to reduce energy production costs and ensure a stable energy supply.
During his visit, Al-Sudani also reviewed the status of electricity service throughout the governorate and followed up on
