Patriots reach agreement with Joey Slye for a signing deal

Joey Slye, a veteran kicker with an impressive career, was quickly picked up by the Patriots after being released by the Jaguars earlier this week. The Jaguars had drafted Cam Little in the sixth round, leading to Slye’s release. However, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reported that Slye has agreed to terms on a deal with the Patriots.

New England already has 2023 fourth-round pick Chad Ryland on the roster, who had a solid rookie season. Ryland went 16-of-25 on field goals and 24-of-25 on extra points. Slye previously played for the Commanders and has also kicked for the 49ers, Texans, and Panthers. Throughout his career, Slye has made 121-of-147 field goals and 138-of-156 extra points. With his experience and proven track record, he is sure to be an asset to the Patriots as they continue their quest for success in the NFL.
