Larry Antonucci, M.D., MBA, is the President & CEO of Lee Health. This week, he took the opportunity to express his appreciation for the volunteers at Lee Health, who provide dedicated service and support to the health system.
Lee Health is committed to providing kindness and compassionate care to patients, visitors, and staff. Volunteers can be found working in almost every department of the hospitals and offices throughout the health system and community-based locations, both in patient care and non-patient care areas. Their contributions make a significant impact on patients’ experiences.
Many of the volunteers at Lee Health are either patients themselves or family members of patients who have received care and want to give back to the community. Reba George, a former patient turned volunteer whose story can be found at https://tinyurl.com/YTReba, is one example. Volunteering at Lee Health does not require a medical or nursing background; it only takes a desire to make a difference and help others.
The reasons why individuals volunteer at Lee Health vary but share a common thread: the desire to contribute positively to the community. To hear from some of the volunteers and learn more about their reasons for volunteering, visit https://tinyurl.com/YTVolunteers. The efforts, support, kindness, and friendships of the volunteers are deeply appreciated and valued as an integral part of the mission-driven team at Lee Health.
