Meet Kiah Helget: The Unstoppable Greyhound Softball Phenom and All-Around Interesting Person

Kiah Helget, a senior at New Ulm Cathedral, hit a two-run home run against Nicollet on Monday at Harman Park, leading the Greyhounds to a 16-0 victory in just four innings. The game ended early due to the 15-run lead rule. In an interview with me after the game, Helget revealed her favorite things and shared some interesting insights into her personality.

One of Helget’s favorite foods is chicken from Raising Cane’s. When asked about her favorite movie, she mentioned “The Maze Runner,” specifically the first one. In addition to softball, she enjoys reading and lifting weights. When asked about her favorite athlete, she mentioned Simone Biles and expressed admiration for her gymnastics skills. As for her favorite animal, she expressed a love for Golden Retrievers but has yet to convince her parents to get one for her.

Helget’s impressive performance on the field was undoubtedly a key factor in the Greyhounds’ victory over Nicollet. She went 4 for 4 with four RBIs and helped lead the team to a commanding lead that was too much for Nicollet to overcome. Despite their efforts to keep up, Nicollet eventually surrendered defeat after four innings due to the 15-run lead rule.

Overall, Kiah Helget is not only an excellent softball player but also an interesting person with diverse interests outside of sports. Whether you’re a fan of gymnastics or simply looking for some good food and company, there’s no doubt that Helget would be happy to share some insights into what makes life worth living!
