On April 25, a minor was sexually assaulted at the Museum of Science and Industry (MSI) in the 3rd District. The Chicago Police Department issued a community alert following the incident, which occurred between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the museum located on DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The police report states that the minor was separated from her group when an offender approached her and offered assistance.
The offender then led the minor to the second floor of MSI, where she requested to use the restroom. While in the restroom, the offender entered the stall, touched the minor inappropriately, and fled when she kicked at him. The offender is described as a male between 30 to 40 years old and standing at 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-3 inches tall with a light complexion, medium build, curly light brown hair, colored eyes, a beard, and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light blue shirt, blue vest, blue jeans, and black gym shoes.
A spokesperson for MSI expressed their concern for visitor safety and assured cooperation with the Chicago Police Department during their investigation into the matter.
