Businesses in the area prepare for the upcoming tourist season with a round-up of activities.

Despite signs of a strong local economy, businesses in Narragansett, Rhode Island are still facing challenges in finding help in the hospitality industry. However, as the region prepares for the pre-summer tourist influx set to begin next month, many businesses have taken steps to improve their offerings.

For example, O’Reilly Auto Parts has opened a store in Wakefield, while Celeste has completed renovations in Narragansett. The opening of Tower Hill Brewing Co. in Wakefield offers craft beers made on site in their taproom. In addition, Tower Hill Brewing Co. allows patrons to bring their own food as they do not have a kitchen on site.

The South County Tourism Council is promoting spring specials at various businesses and restaurants on their website, www.southcountyri.com. As the busy tourist season approaches, it is clear that these efforts are paying off and that businesses are eager to showcase what they have to offer to visitors from all over the region and beyond.
