North Central Missouri College’s Robotics Automation Technology team, consisting of Keaton Pettlon and Zachary Walker from Maryville, recently competed in the Missouri SkillsUSA Robotics Automation Technology Competition at State Tech in Linn. The team emerged victorious, securing first place in the competition and earning a spot to compete at the National SkillsUSA conference in Atlanta, GA, from June 24-28.
Pettlon and Walker showcased their skills by completing their contest skill challenge in record time, becoming the only team to successfully complete their contest. The team is under the guidance of Rick Sharp, an instructor at NCMC specializing in industrial technology. Sharp commended Pettlon and Walker for their exceptional performance, stating that they are strong competitors with the potential to excel at the national level.
With their success in the Missouri SkillsUSA competition, Pettlon and Walker will now be competing among the top two percent of the nation in the Robotics Automation Technology contest. Sharp expressed confidence in their abilities and is optimistic about their prospects at the upcoming national conference.
