The Los Angeles Chargers have announced the signing of running back JK Dobbins to a one-year contract. This news was confirmed by his agency LAA Sports, and it comes after Dobbins spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. He will now be joining his new team at SoFi Stadium, where he will be reuniting with his former offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who is currently serving in the same role with the Chargers.
Unfortunately, Dobbins faced setbacks last season due to injuries. He only played in the first week before going down with an Achilles injury, which led to him being placed on injured reserve. Additionally, he missed the entire 2021 season after tearing his ACL in a preseason game. Despite these challenges, Dobbins has shown his talent on the field with 1,347 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 27 receptions for 177 yards receiving, and one touchdown through the air in his career.
The Chargers are looking to improve their rushing game after struggling in the previous season. They ranked 25th in yards rushing, had one of the lowest yards per carry averages, and lacked rushing touchdowns.
