Mayo Clinic Health System has been granted a 30-year lease to occupy integrated research workspace in the new Science and Health Sciences Building at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The collaboration is expected to enhance research and educational opportunities for students and faculty, as well as contribute significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge in the region.
Construction on the state-of-the-art Science and Health Sciences Building is set to begin this summer, with Mayo Clinic Health System committing $13.7 million to the project. The 330,000-square-foot building will replace the outdated Phillips Hall and provide space for multiple academic programs including biology, chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, geography and anthropology, geology and environmental science, public health and environmental studies, neuroscience, materials science and biomedical engineering, physics and astronomy, and nursing.
Mayo Clinic Health System will have space on all five floors of the building that will be integrated with UW-Eau Claire faculty and student spaces. The partnership signifies a significant investment in the future of healthcare and research at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, demonstrating their commitment to advancing scientific knowledge and providing cutting-edge educational opportunities for students in the region.
