After a long career as a senior mining engineer, he decided to pursue a law degree, following in the footsteps of his maternal family. Currently in his third year of Law at the University of Alicante, José Maria is determined to finish the degree, despite not planning to practice law. He values the opportunity to continue learning and staying active, rather than retiring and becoming idle.

The University for Seniors at the Complutense University of Madrid was established in 1999 to provide educational opportunities for individuals who had not previously pursued higher education. Regardless of age it is never too late to pursue education and acquire new skills.

Programs like Nau Gran at the University of Valencia and UNED Senior cater to the needs of older learners by offering flexible courses on a variety of subjects.
