New Women’s Health and Research Center Launches to Address Aging Population in Cleveland Clinic

The Cleveland Clinic has announced the launch of a new Women’s Comprehensive Health and Research Center to provide specialized care for middle-aged and older women. The center aims to address the needs of aging women, with around 6,000 women starting menopause daily in the United States.

Maria Shriver will lead the center as its chief visionary and strategic advisor, expanding her role in the hospital system. Shriver is known for founding The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement Prevention and Research Center at the Cleveland Clinic, now serving patients across the state. The new center will offer specialty care in areas such as behavioral health, breast health, cardiovascular care, infant and maternal health, endocrinology, weight management, menopause, osteoporosis, metabolic bone density, wellness, and disease prevention.

To address health disparities and reach diverse communities, the center will provide additional online resources and support groups. The goal is to bridge gaps in health literacy and ensure all women have access to quality care. Currently serving patients in Ohio and Michigan, plans are in place to expand the center to facilities in Florida in the future.
