Public Health Officials from California Unite with Teamsters

Recently, workers at the Marin/Sonoma Mosquito and Vector Control District in Cotati, California have joined Teamsters Local 665. The 33 new members play a critical role in protecting the health and welfare of residents in Marin and Sonoma counties from mosquitoes and vector-borne diseases.

As President of Local 665 in San Francisco, Mike Yates congratulated the new members on their decision to join the union. He emphasized the importance of their work in keeping communities safe and commended them for their dedication to public health. Local 665 is committed to supporting these workers as they negotiate their first Teamsters contract and address key priorities.

The team at the district is responsible for tasks such as mosquito control, delivery of mosquitofish, ground nesting yellowjacket control, and providing advice on rodent prevention and control. By affiliating with Teamsters Local 665, they hope to bring about positive collaborations and effective representation for their dedicated work.

Teamsters Local 665 represents over 5,000 working members across Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area in various industries.
