National Political Science Honor Society Inducts Five New Members

On April 15, 2024, Pi Sigma Alpha held an induction ceremony at the University of Louisiana Monroe to welcome five new members. The event was attended by keynote speaker David Orr, the City Manager of Texarkana, Tex., and Chiquita Burks, the current City Management Fellow.

Pi Sigma Alpha is a political science honor society that aims to encourage the study of government problems and foster reforms in governmental machinery. It also educates the electorate on government issues. To become a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, one must meet certain academic criteria such as having an overall GPA within the top one-third of their graduating class, a GPA of 3.5 or better in Political Science courses, and completing over twelve hours of political science courses.

The Alpha Zeta Nu Chapter at ULM inducted Elenora Franco, Haleigh Lewellyan, Jessica DeFreese, Mallory LaBoeuf, and Melanna Morris into its ranks during the ceremony. These students are now part of a network that spans over 700 chapters worldwide and inducts over 800 new members annually.
