Get Noticed in the Messenger’s Upcoming Business Community Supplement: Showcase Your Business!

Franklin County’s vibrant business community is showcased in the annual supplement, a cherished tradition that has been published for over four decades. Started by former Messenger editor and co-publisher Emerson Lynn 40 years ago, the supplement highlights the energy, creativity, and commerce that drives the local economy.

The first edition of the supplement was published in 1983 and received an immediate positive response from readers who loved seeing pictures of their friends and favorite businesses. It quickly became the Messenger’s premier product and was soon picked up by other newspapers in the state. In 2018, Jim O’Rourke took over ownership of the Messenger and continued the tradition of publishing the Franklin County Business Community supplement.

In 2020, the format of the supplement underwent a transformation into a high-quality all-color magazine format. Despite being able to easily search for businesses online today, this annual publication remains relevant and special to many households in Franklin County. Holding it in both hands brings back memories of family history, old faces, outfits, haircuts, family vacations, and birthday parties that may have been lost over time.

As we prepare for its 42nd edition in 2024, it is clear that this photo album serves as a unique way to preserve and celebrate our community’s rich history and traditions.
