In recent news, Real Madrid’s Director of Institutional Relations, Emilio Butragueño, welcomed a delegation from Namibia to the club’s headquarters. The group was led by Agnes Tjongarero, Minister of Sport, Youth and National Service; Albertus Aochamub, Namibian Ambassador to France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Morocco; and José Luis Reyero, President of Cadilu Fishing.
The purpose of their visit was to present the program for educational football clinics that will be held in Namibia this year. These clinics are scheduled to take place in Keetmanshoop and Gobabis from May 13 to 24 and in Opuwo and Eenhana from October 7 to 18. The program is now in its second year and is expected to involve over 1,000 children. Funding for the clinics will be provided by Cadilu Fishing with support from the Ministries of Sport and Education as well as the Spanish Embassy in Namibia.
Two coaches from the Real Madrid Foundation will travel to Namibia to work with the young participants providing them with a unique football experience while teaching valuable values through the Foundation’s educational methodology. The ongoing support from the Ministry of Sports and the Spanish Embassy has helped establish these clinics as a recurring program. Further plans include the opening of an Educational Football Programme in September supported by Cadilu Fishing to continue promoting sport and education in the country.
