Ukraine Downs Russian Strategic Bomber in War’s First Incident of its Kind

The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a Tu-22 bomber crashed due to a technical fault and was not carrying any ammunition. The governor of the Stavropol region, Vladimir Vladimirov, stated that all but one crew member managed to eject from the plane, with one killed and two taken to the hospital. A search is ongoing for the fourth crew member.

In recent news, during a Russian attack, 22 missiles and 14 unmanned aerial vehicles were launched, most of which were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force. However, at least nine people, including three children, were killed in missile strikes in the Dnepropetrovsk region. Some of the strikes hit near the Dnipro railway station, injuring workers.
