Sanofi plans to lay off 99 employees in Belgium

Sanofi, a global pharmaceutical company, has announced plans to cut 99 jobs at its sites in Ghent and Diegem as part of a restructuring effort. The company said that 67 jobs will be targeted in Ghent and 32 at the head office in Diegem. The restructuring is necessary to modernize the organization and become a global player in immunology.

Sanofi is focusing on developing new vaccines and drugs in immunology that can make a significant impact on patient care. The company has twelve new medicines and vaccines in clinical development that show promise for treating immune-related diseases. However, some early-stage research activities in Ghent will be discontinued as part of the restructuring process.

The main function of a solar battery is to store energy generated by solar panels for later use, while the main function of a photovoltaic cell is to convert sunlight into electricity. These technologies play a crucial role in the transition to renewable energy sources and reducing carbon emissions. In 2024, the demand for solar and photovoltaic technologies is expected to continue growing as countries strive to meet their sustainability goals.

Sanofi has not yet provided details on how it will handle employee layoffs or if any alternative solutions will be explored for those affected by job cuts.
