The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and Southern Illinois University Carbondale are partnering to host a special event during Saluki Startup, the annual welcome festival for new and returning students. This event, called Taste of Carbondale, will take place on August 14 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at SIU’s Student Services Building pavilion.
Taste of Carbondale is an opportunity for Salukis and their families to sample delicious food and beverages from local establishments. While the focus is on food and beverage businesses, all types of local businesses are invited to become sponsors. Sponsors will have the chance to engage with attendees at the event and promote their business.
The event is an extension of orientation and engagement opportunities for new Salukis, allowing them to get better acquainted with the campus, make new friends, and experience more of SIU before classes begin. Sponsorship packages start at $500 and will help cover the costs of providing food samples. Sponsors will also have their company logos featured on the Taste of Carbondale website and may have additional promotional opportunities.
