Tonia Kirby, a science teacher at RISE Academy in Rantoul, Illinois, is passionate about providing her students with real-world experiences at their new alternative middle school. She believes that exposing students to science in action is a valuable learning opportunity. Kirby is eager to take her students outside on Monday to observe the world around them and gain hands-on experience in the field of science.
Meanwhile, Alison Zemba, an eighth-grade science teacher at Pittsburgh Classical Academy, is thrilled about the ASU-NASA partnership and the opportunities it presents for her students. She has been using Infiniscope’s Kingdom of Peril lessons in her classroom and has noticed that her students are enjoying them immensely. Zemba notes that her students have had “aha” moments and have been able to use technology to learn about the Sun/Earth/Moon system.
Both teachers are dedicated to providing engaging and hands-on learning experiences for their students and are grateful for the resources and partnerships that support their efforts in the classroom. The collaboration between schools, organizations, and educational initiatives is helping to inspire and motivate students in their exploration of science.
