Dodgers defeat Marlins with strong performance from Buehler

On Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers secured a 6-3 victory over the Miami Marlins, thanks in part to Shohei Ohtani’s impressive power surge. Ohtani hit his fourth home run in three games, becoming the first player this season to hit 11 home runs when he crushed a pitch from Roddery Muñoz for a two-run shot in the first inning. This was the eighth time in Ohtani’s career that he had homered in three consecutive games, and the fourth time in a three-game span.

Freddie Freeman followed Ohtani’s homer with a solo shot, marking the first time this season that the Dodgers had gone back-to-back. James Outman and Teoscar Hernández also contributed by hitting home runs as the Dodgers extended their winning streak to four games.

Despite scoring twice in the first inning, Miami’s Walker Buehler settled down and pitched four innings, giving up three runs and six hits while striking out four. Ryan Yarbrough and Alex Vesia also had strong performances on the mound for the Marlins.

Gavin Lux, Outman, and Hernández continued the power display by hitting home runs in the second and third innings, giving the Dodgers an even more commanding lead. The Marlins saw Nick Gordon contribute with a homer but ultimately fell short in the game.
