Celebrate Earth Day at Family Science Night on Monday with SCC

The Southeast Community College is hosting a Family Science Night in honor of Earth Day on Monday, April 22. This event will take place at the Career Academy Synergy Space on the Lincoln Campus, located at 8800 O St. from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The event is organized and run by SCC science faculty, STEM Club, STEAM Team, and volunteers from the campus. It’s aimed at elementary-aged children and will include a range of hands-on science activities for them to enjoy. Some of the planned activities are a geology table with bug fossils, a penny water surface tension experiment, making Earth Day bird feeders, exploring the science of popcorn, and engaging in nanoscience activities. Along with interactive science activities, there will be free pizza and prizes available for attendees.

Food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Sweet Treats Food Truck and Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck during the event. It’s advised to act quickly as there are only 100 tickets available for this event!
