During a recent committee meeting, discussions addressed amendments to the law regulating health professions’ practice. Transitional provisions have been added to recognize studies completed abroad and ease requirements for exams, practical training, and supervised work for individuals already working in Israel’s healthcare sector. These changes aim to encourage immigration and absorption into the healthcare field.
The committee also discussed regulations related to exam subjects, supervised work requirements, permits, and practical training completion requirements for obtaining certification. A two-year postponement of implementing a ban on unauthorized individuals claiming to be chiropractors was also agreed upon to allow organizations time to comply with new regulations.
Dr. Yitzhak Cohen emphasized that practical training is crucial for completing studies and obtaining certification in chiropractic medicine. MK Yoni Meshriki (Shas) highlighted the importance of regulating additional professions within complementary medicine in Israel to combat quackery and charlatanism.
