Circle Centre files lawsuit to evict Sugar Factory, claiming business owes $333k in rent

In a shocking development, Sugar Factory has been served with an eviction notice from its Indianapolis location at 49 W. Maryland Street. The landlord of Circle Centre Mall, LLC. has taken legal action to remove the restaurant from the premises due to unpaid rent. A complaint filed in March by the mall states that Sugar Factory subsidiary SF Indianapolis 88 LLC. has been in default of its lease since January 2023.

According to court filings in Marion County Superior Court 3, a letter was sent to Sugar Factory outlining that the subsidiary owes over $333,000 in back rent. Despite this, Sugar Factory has failed to make any payments towards the outstanding amount owed. It is clear that the landlord is taking action to resolve the issue of unpaid rent and remove Sugar Factory from the premises if necessary.

Sugar Factory opened its Indianapolis location just last year and quickly became popular among locals for its sweet treats and adult beverages. However, it seems that financial difficulties have led to a failure to pay rent on time and now the restaurant faces eviction from its location at Circle Centre Mall.
