Charlie Wade, a talented athlete with an impressive record in Hawaii’s volleyball scene, has announced that his son Kainoa will be reclassifying to graduate early and join the UH Manoa team in January. Kainoa, who plays for Kamehameha High School, had been considering this move for some time now, but it was only after their loss to Punahou on Wednesday night that he confirmed his plans.
Kainoa’s decision to graduate early is a strategic move that will allow him to play for his father at UH Manoa a year ahead of schedule. This decision was made after much deliberation and consideration, as Kainoa believes that playing for his father would be the best opportunity for him to continue developing his skills and reach his full potential.
Kainoa’s performance against Punahou was nothing short of remarkable, as he recorded 34 kills during the match. He received high praise from Punahou coach Rick Tune, who called him “Superman.” Despite this success, Kainoa remains focused on winning a championship for Kamehameha before moving on to UH Manoa.
If everything goes according to plan, this upcoming state tournament in May will be Kainoa’s last chance to try and secure a championship for Kamehameha, who last won the title in 2011. Despite facing stiff competition from other schools in Honolulu’s Interscholastic League, Kainoa remains confident in his team’s abilities and believes they have what it takes to compete for the championship.
